I stumbled upon an article at FoxNews.com about the hacking of World Bank. It is stated in the article that servers in The World Bank Group's highly-restricted treasury unit were deeply penetrated with spy software last April.
The hackers were also able to gain full access to the rest of the bank's network for almost a month, that was in June and July. There were six major intrusions since 2007 and two of these were traced back to a group of ip addresses located in China.
The most recent attack happened last month. This is considered as the worst security breach ever at a global financial institution.
This makes us think that no one is safe anymore. The World bank is a very large organization and yet their security is not that impenetrable. How secure are we?
